SIMBANG GABI 2014

The first day of Simbang Gabi this year was so exciting. Blessed with a cool, dry weather compared to last year (Simbang Gabi 2013) which was marred by intermittent rain showers throughout the Mass.

"Celebration of Simbang Gabi in Las Piñas Bamboo Organ Church in Las Piñas City is very popular among the catholic faithful for a very "Pinoy" in tradition.

Simbáng Gabi is a devotional nine day novena Mass practiced by Roman Catholics in the Philippines in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary in anticipation of Christmas. Simbáng Gabi, meaning "Night Mass", is held from December 16 to December 24 and is usually done at 4 o' clock in the morning. On the last day of the Simbang Gabi, which is Christmas Eve, it is called Misa De Gallo, which literally translates to "Rooster's Mass"....."

Here's some of the collage photos on the 1st day of the 2014 Simbang Gabi:

Prayer For Protection Against Typhoon Ruby

Graciously hear us, dear Father in heaven, when we call upon You, and grant unto our petitions a calm atmosphere, protect us from the coming typhoon Ruby (Hagupit), that we, who are justly afflicted for our sins, may, by Your protecting mercy, experience pardon. Through Christ our Lord.

Amen.
